First Aid Level 1

First Aid level 1 is an entry level first aid training course on emergency principles and is accredited through the Department of Labour, Health and Welfare Sector Educational Training Authority (HWSETA), and QCTO In the First Aid Level 1,2 and 3 courses we show learners how to perform basic life support and first aid techniques in emergencies. Delivered by enthusiastic staff, learners will cover theoretical knowledge and have to perform practical skills competently, such as CPR and Choking. First Aid level 1 is the starting point.

First Aid Level 2

Once First Aid Level 1 has been completed, learners are eligible to complete First Aid Level 2. Any person who participated in this first aid training course can render safe and effective first aid in a medical, injury or environmental emergency. Our first aid level 2 course is designed to help you work logically, efficiently and effectively to assess and manage an emergency by using a systematic approach to first aid. Our level 2 first aid course covers additional first aid modules as required by the Department of Labour and QCTO.

First Aid Level 3

Our First aid level 3 is a comprehensive first aid training course for hazardous occupations and people without easy access to healthcare. First aid level 3 covers revision of information learnt in both the introductory first aid level 1 courses and workplace based first aid level 2 courses, and delves further into the provision of emergency care. Emergency childbirth and water-related emergencies form part of this course.

Basic Fire Fighting

Basic Fire Fighting is a course designed to equip learners with the knowledge and necessary skills to manage and extinguish a fire in the home or office environment.

SHE Rep

The H&S Representative appointment is a legal requirement under Section 17 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and is compulsory for every organisation. The health and safety course incorporate theoretical, practical and reflexive learning. It ensures that the learner is exposed to the true requirements and function of the H&S Representatives in the working environment. The 8-hour health and safety representative training course ensures learners understand the relevant act, legislation and all-round knowledge of health and safety.

HIRA

This practical course will provide learners with the necessary tools and skills to enable them to carry out hazard identification and risk assessments in the workplace. The aim of the course is to enable responsible and informed contributions to the health and safety effort in the workplace.

Forklift

Once a person is accredited with this unit standard, he or she will be able to operate a lift truck safely and efficiently. Maintenance skills will enable the learner to take basic care of the equipment so as to apply with legislative standards.

Accident & Incident Investigation

The purpose of accident and incident investigation is to identify the root cause(s) of accidents and incidents in order to take corrective action and implement the necessary control measures to prevent further occurrences of such events. Effective recording, reporting and investigation of nonconformance’s is an important part of an effective occupational health and safety program.

Working @ Heights 1

Learners wishing to acquire the competencies in this standard will be people responsible for the safety and protection of people working at height where there is a risk of injury from a fall. The learner will be responsible for the safety of others performing tasks at height. Qualifying learners are able to develop fall protection plans for people working at height, required by the Occupational Health and safety act (Act 85 of 1993).

Working @ Heights 2

Learners wishing to acquire the competencies in this standard will be people working at height where there is a risk of injury from a fall. Learners will be involved in performing tasks at height. Qualifying learners are able to take responsibility for inspection and installation of fall arrest systems and for implementing fall protection plans and rescues.

Working @ Heights 3

Learners wishing to acquire the competencies in this standard will be, people working at height where there is a risk of injury from a fall. Learners will be involved in performing tasks at height. Qualifying learners are able to follow fall arrest principles to perform work at height safely, under supervision of a qualified supervisor.
